Shan started as a young man abandoned in caemlyn by his parents though he was to young to remember or know why. Most of his younger years he spends in a orphanage in south Caemlyn. He attended school in his younger years and was taught to read and write. Shan hated the orphanage though, he viewed it as a cage keeping him from seeing the rest of the world. he then ran away in his early teens ready to make a name for himself as many young men want too. He spent most of his years as a street thug stealing and scamming people for money until he joined a local street gang. Though it was exciting at first Shan quickly grew old of this life, and looked for a way to escape an make a honest living. At 18 winters Shan joined the Queens guard of Andor and served for a few years. Shan moved up quickly in ranks due to his dedication and skill with a blade. During his career he brought down many street gangs and exposed many corrupt things around Andor in his Career. When serving at the rank of Bannerman he was put in charge of a investigation which resulted in a witness being murdered in a cell while being question by his fellow guardsmen. After a long trail he was deemed guilty and demoted to the rank of footman after serving a small amount of jail time. Shan still worked hard as he had done all his years before but was looked down on by his fellow guardsmen after the trial. Shan remained Loyal to Queen Morgase though and served best he could at the rank of foorman, years passed an he was never given the chance to move up again. So when Shan heard of the testing being done at the Farm for men who wished to Serve the Lord Dragon, he resigned from his post. Shan then set out on one of the carts from Caemlyn determined to join the Legion of the Dragon. Shan plans did not work out though as he learned he was able to touch Saidin and had to join the Black Tower to keep from going mad or being hunted down by the Aes Sedai. Shan was quick to master his use of Saidin, Shan used it for everything and made huge leaps in his strength. Shan quickly made the rank of Dedicated where he taught the new members of the Tower for a few years under Tsorovan’M’hael Mostric before they saw his true potential was to be part of the Battle Squads sent out on important missions. Shan performed many task as a Asha'man, some that he is not proud of and will not talk about till this day. Though due to the fact he always finished his task no matter the cost including capture once by the shadow, Shan has moved up in rank to his current position of Tsorovan'M'hael. The man now leads the day to day runnings of the Black Tower. Many are blind to all the work Shan still does because much is kept quiet, Shan is seen as harsh by many due to strictly enforcing the Towers rules. Shan always leads his men on the most dangerous missions though as he would never ask them to go where he himself would not. The only flaw many have now is due to always wanting to improve he casts a jealous eye to M'hael Taim's position. Only time will tell where his road leads now
