Strengths: Extremely loyal, if she decides that you are one that she cares about she will likely go to the ends of the world to keep you safe or help you. Overly caring, even if you are not one that she cares about she's still likely to do the same should she see you in danger.

Flaws: Depressing, though she is quick to work to make others happy she seems to care little for her own feelings and indeed appears quite sad at almost all times. Naive, even if others are certain of something she will continue to hold onto hope as if it was the truth until she finds proof for herself.

Strength with Saidar: (12) Though she is among those considered weaker Aes Sedai she does show great skill in what she can use. And should she be using fire she seems able to at least match those with much greater strength in the power then herself.

"Do you remember me?"

Ryer woke with a start, drenched in sweat and breathing heavily she glanced around making sure that she was indeed in her quarters. Her gaze moved across the sparse room in the dark before finally settling on the only real thing that she had added to it since it became hers. With a sigh she slipped out of bed and walked to the shelf on which only a display case lay, inside several broken shards of sword rested. "Of course I remember you..." she muttered into the night as she traced a finger over the edge of the case. "I can't forget you..." Her finger reached the latch holding it shut and for the briefest of moments she toyed with the idea of opening it before withdrawing her hand and turning to head back to her bed. Before her though was a shadow rising from the ground, slowly taking a shape that seemed more and more human. For some reason she couldn't embrace saidar, perhaps too afraid, instead taking a step back in fear only to feel her back hit the shelf she had been examining earlier as the shadow reached out as it grew in size and completely engulfed her in the darkness.

"You are a fake." The voice cut through the silence that filled the darkness, cold and harsh. "The illustrious Ryer of the noble house el'Liani. Aes Sedai of the grey Ajah. And yet you are so weak. So powerless. What can you possibly do? Who could you possibly save? Certainly not her." The voice continued, each word seeming to come from somewhere else. Even though the voice didn't match and the words would never be spoken by them, Ryer knew who the speaker was. With a frown she tried to embrace again, once more finding absolutely nothing as if she had been completely cut off from it. "Even now you can do nothing. You pretend you are somebody others can come to for help and you can't even help yourself." Still the voice taunted her, laughing now as a blinding light suddenly exploded, replacing the darkness.

When the light finally lessened some Ryer found herself standing in an endless field of snow. The only thing that stood out from the snow was a single tree, quite withered and dead, standing alone in the distance. "Guess there is not much choice in my destination..." She muttered to herself before stepping forward towards it, only to find herself instantly standing before it so suddenly that she stumbled, falling into the snow before her. Muttering as she raised herself from the snow she finally noticed the body resting at the base of the tree, the snow around it stained red. Giving a star Ryer scooted away, once more recognition sending fear through her. "You know this scene... You caused this scene..." The voice returned, though now it came from the lips of the body before her, it's head turning to face her with a terrifying grin. Ryer stared in horror at body before her. A woman who didn't look all that different from her. A little taller, and hair just a bit lighter then Ryer's own raven lack. There could be no mistaking that the corpse that was speaking to Ryer was her sister, Theresa el'Liani.

"No! I didn't cause this!" Ryer screamed at the corpse of her sister which only brought more laughter from it. "Your inaction caused this just as much as the blade that opened her." The voice coming from her sister spoke as it move a hand to the body's stomach, slowly drawing it across a wound slowly revealing after it, deep and bloody. "You stood there. An expression of terror not unlike the one you wear now. You stood there and did nothing. You watched as she died." The voice finished as the wound was fully revealed, the red snow around the body slowly spreading before becoming more rapid. Ryer watched it coming towards her in horror as it began to turn black, coming closer and closer the voice laughing again as Ryer turned to run only for the shadow to rise up from the ground like a wave and bury her beneath it.

"Deny it all you like... Run from it as much as you want. It will not change what is true. You will always know what is true." The voice taunted from the darkness as Ryer covered her ears, her tears falling away into the void around her. "There was nothing I could have done. I couldn't channel back then. I could barely even use a blade. And even now I could never heal such a wound. There was nothing I could have possibly done!" She screamed out into the darkness only to be met with silence. For several long moments the only sound was that of Ryer breathing as she waited for a response, until finally the noise of a footstep cut through the silence. More and more, closer and closer the footsteps came until finally the voice of the shadow revealed itself and came to a stop before her, leaving Ryer to face herself. "Why do you argue with yourself Ryer el'Liani. Why do you force this upon yourself? When will you wake up?"

~Ashes~

The feel of the snow crunching beneath her boots, the crackle of the flames the surrounded her, the smell of burning flesh and death that filled the air, and the taste of blood in her mouth. These were the foes that assaulted Ryer's senses as she moved on from her latest scene of carnage. This last group of trollocs was not the first that she had crossed paths with as she searched for that which was most important to her, and there was a good chance that it would not be the last. It had however been the first one that a darkfriend had been traveling with, a man who could channel at that. Not that it had mattered, alone as she was and with nobody to worry about the health or safety of, or more importantly for her oaths to interfere with, was when she was in her element when it came to fighting. It didn't stop her from running over the event in her mind though...

Ryer had followed them, it wasn't all that difficult given their number, still she took her time doing it. Caution was always needed in the borderlands, more so this close to the blight, but she saw no reason to leave trollocs be even if it was ultimately a distraction from what others would call her futile search. When she came across the actual group she became even more cautious though. From her vantage point on a hill some distance away she could see that they had stopped, and based on the noises that drifted her way on the wind they had found some animal or another upon which to feast, if not some unlucky hunter. Now would be the time to strike, and so with a deep breath to calm her mind she strode forward towards her next massacre.

She moved forward calmly and with purpose with no hint of stealth, it was rather amazing how often the simple if rather foolish approaches worked, and by the time that the fire trolloc had noticed her and let out a cry of alarm she was had already embraced saidar and was weaving threads made purely of fire. It's cry of alarm quickly turned to a shriek of death as it was suddenly engulfed in flames hot enough to melt the flesh from it's bone, yet neither the sight or sound that went with the fate of their comrade deterred the rest of the trollocs and their feast was forgotten for this new and fresh meal before them. As they came at her Ryer began her dance, this was her element, her place, with no allies, surrounded by foes all around. She weaved, and her threads of fire swirled around her, for hers was a dance of death, and indeed as she created a sea of flames they died by the score.

It wasn't until only the last few of the trollocs remained, very near to giving in to fear and fleeing, that he struck. So entranced in her own fiery dance that she was that it was really only a matter of luck that she survived his first weave. It had come in the form of a spear of ice sent flying at her head, and indeed if his aim had been a little more accurate and had she not been constantly moving in her dance then that would have been the end of it. As it was it cut across her left cheek leaving a gash starting at the corner of her mouth. He was smart enough to have already sent off another assault but the surprise had now been lost and she met it with a stream of fire causing it to evaporate into a small cloud of steam. In the moment that followed there was a relative calm and as the steam cleared the two regarded each other as the few trollocs left alive decided now was the time to make their escape.

He was young she noticed, likely around the age of Casera she realized, and that thought gave her a moment of pause. Nobody knew what had become of Casera's brother, what if this young man lashing out at her was Rian? As she considered him though she noticed the features were all wrong, she could see nothing of either Aran or Tesiya in his face, even twisted in blind hate and rage as it was. The hesitation was foolish though and one that the young man took advantage of, blasting her with a weave of air and sending her flying back through the air several yards before crashing into the slush created by her flames and sliding to a stop. As she stood a slab of earth crashed into right arm causing her to let out a cry of pain as the the bones within shattered. Barely moving out of the way of a second and slicing apart a third with a weave of air, she needed to end this now. The pain was put out of her mind, this young man was but a distant thought, he was merely an obstacle on her search for Tesiya. And when he tried to lash out at her with his own weave of fire she struck, turn his own flames against him and adding her own, his screams of pain as he burned alive barely registering in her thoughts. Already she moved forward as the last of his screams died out.

It had been a series of foolish mistakes on her part but she had come out of it more or less alive. Her armed throbbed with pain though, that would need to be healed she supposed. She had been gone for a while, and the man had caused thoughts of Casera to dance across her mind. Deciding it was time to return to Tar Valon, if only for a while, she started to study the area in detail. She was sure that the usual sisters would ridicule her for her search, and likely those in her Ajah would be upset about her absence, she was supposed to one of their Sitters after all, but none of that worried her. Truthfully what worried her is how much Casera might have changed with her time as Aes Sedai. She worried about her daughter, Beline surely must have been raised by now and would have bonded her and she hoped they weren't rushing off into danger at every chance they got. The only way to find out was to see for herself though and so she weaved a gate to travel just outside of Tar Valon and stepped through, leaving behind the scene which she had created, the small battlefield where ashes floated in the air along with the snow that would slowly bury it all away.
